Opening Ceremony Thursday 21st August
The Opening Ceremony will be held in the Main House of the MacRobert Arts Centre which is located at the heart of the university campus and will be followed by the team captains’ briefing for all three challenges.
The Opening Ceremony will commence at 19:00hrs with doors of the Main House open from 18:30hrs. There is a bar facility within the MacRobert Centre which will be available prior to the ceremony. The dress code for the Opening Ceremony will be uniform.
Closing Ceremony Saturday 23rd August
The Closing Ceremony will be held in the Great Hall of Stirling Castle from 19:00hrs onwards. The Castle provides a spectacular backdrop for the awards ceremony at the end of the two day event. A bus service will be provided to the venue for all participants who are staying on the University campus.
A traditional Scottish buffet will be served from 19:00hrs and a cash bar will also be provided. The Service has negotiated free guided tours of the Castle for any interested participants between 18:00hrs and 19:00hrs and an early bus will be provided for anyone wishing to take advantage of the offer. Dress code for the Closing Ceremony will be uniform or national dress.
Please Note
Due to the limited exit width within the Great Hall the numbers for the closing event will be restricted and will be strictly ticket entry only. In the first instance, tickets will only be issued to challenge participants with any remaining tickets released on a first come first serve basis. We have therefore arranged for a live video link to be provided into the Chapel of the Castle for all those unable to enter the Great Hall. This will enable everyone who wishes to attend the event to enjoy the Castle atmosphere, the buffet and the Scottish entertainment we are providing for the evening.
After the Event
The Closing Ceremony is programmed to finish at 21:00hrs and teams will then be free to take the three minute walk down the hill into Stirling centre or to return to the University campus. Should you will require transport back to the University campus at 21:00hrs, then please contact Iain McCusker CSFRS no later than 31st July.
